Lansdowne Retail

Retail

A classic Ottawa landmark, Lansdowne Park has recently been transformed into a modern and vibrant community hub. Buildings A and B of the Lansdowne Park redevelopment are two pieces in the expansive redevelopment of the entire Lansdowne Park site. Currently occupied by Sporting Life, Building A is a 42,000ft2 single tenant retail space that shares its building footprint with a 13-storey condominium development. The building is a cast-in-place concrete structure formed and poured by the condominium developer with Doran contracted to complete the base building shell of the two ground-level retail floors. The condominium tower extends through the core of the retail space and above the retail roof level.

Building B is a 61,000ft2 multi-tenant retail space that is comprised of two floors of retail leasing space and a third floor that houses the heating plant for seven retail buildings within the Lansdowne Park site. The building is a structural steel frame, with a concrete-filled second floor deck.

This large-scale project involved many workers and required a consistent, high level of communication and coordination with other contractors and delivery schedules in order to provide a safe, efficient, and high-quality process and end product.
