Project Description:
The Sludge Thickening and

called the Robert O. Pickard Environmental Centre, on Shefford Road in Ottawa East.

The equipment included 13 centrifuges, costing $ 1 million each, to be used for
thickening waste activated sludge. In addition, 8 350-h.p. boilers were installed, burning
either natural gas or gas generated from the digesters, to supply both process heat and
central heat for the site.

The building's structure utilized precast and curtain wall construction over
structural steel and reinforced concrete. |
