A
three storey structural steel addition to an existing four storey
building. This challenging project featured the addition of
laboratories, classrooms and support space over a continuously
occupied high tech laboratory and classroom building. Doran
Contractors Limited acted as Construction Managers to Carleton
University. In adition to procurement and coordination of construction,
we performed cost and schedule control functions. This complicated
project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule enabling
the University to hold classes in the facility at the start
of the September 2000 term.

Construction of
a 100,000 sqft office facility and its related site work was
completed on a compressed schedule. Doran commenced the project
as Construction Managers and was subsequently converted to a
general contract.

The
first phase of the site development consisted of a five storey
steel framed, 100,000 square foot office tower. The building
was clad in an aluminum curtainwall featuring blue reflective
and vision glass. Doran, with the owner and design team, worked
to adapt the building to materials and manpower available, to
deliver the project on schedule and on budget.
